Following her signing to Dalliance Recordings, Wales’ most exciting newcomer, Ailsa Tully, has dropped her new single, ‘Drive’. The majority of the track gives off a distinctly folky feel, with raw acoustic guitars and distant drums forming an atmospheric accompaniment to her vocal, but there is a sense of modern eclecticism sitting beneath the texture. She explains that the song “is about searching to free yourself from the mundanity of everyday life. It was inspired by a time when my brain was festering in a boring job.” ‘Drive’ is accompanied by a self-shot video, which makes that age-old cliché of staring out of the car window and pretending you’re in a music video into a reality. -Dan Peeke
